What does “Shop by Season” mean?
Shop by Season is a personal color approach rooted in seasonal color analysis — the idea that your natural coloring (skin tone, hair, eyes) harmonizes most beautifully with a specific palette of colors. The four seasons — Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter — each correspond to a distinct set of tones and undertones. At Surprise Lily, we organize our collections around these palettes, both online and in-store, so you can shop with intention and find colors that genuinely make you glow.
How does seasonal color shopping work at Surprise Lily?
Our collections are curated and tagged by season — Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter — making it easy to browse for your palette online or in-store. If you know your season, you can shop directly within your palette. If you’re still figuring it out, our team loves helping customers explore what works for them. Do I need to know my season to shop at Surprise Lily?
Not at all. Many of our customers come in curious but unsure of their season, and we love that. Our team is here to help you explore colors, try things on, and discover what makes you feel your most confident. Whether you’re a deep Autumn, a soft Summer, a bright Spring, or a cool Winter — or anywhere in between — we’ll help you find pieces that feel like you.
I know my season — can I shop by palette online?
Absolutely. Our online collections are organized by season, so you can shop directly within your palette from anywhere. If you’re an Autumn, for example, our Autumn collection is full of warm, earthy tones — rust, olive, mustard, chocolate, terracotta — curated specifically for you. Same goes for Spring, Summer, and Winter.

Does Surprise Lily carry Liverpool denim?
Yes! We carry a curated selection of Liverpool denim for women — it’s one of our favorites because the fit is genuinely flattering and it holds up beautifully. Styles, washes, and silhouettes rotate, so we recommend stopping in to try things on. Our team is happy to help you find a pair that works for your body and your color palette.
I’m tired of stores that only carry black and grey. Is Surprise Lily different?

What kinds of dresses do you carry?
Our dress selection rotates with the seasons and covers a lot of ground — midi dresses, wrap styles, linen summer dresses, Derby-ready looks, and everything in between. Do you carry Derby dresses and accessories?
Derby season is one of our favorites. We carry Derby-ready dresses, fascinators, statement jewelry, and accessories perfect for Churchill Downs, Oaks Day, Derby parties, and all the events that make Derby Week so special in Louisville. Styles sell out quickly, so shop early — follow us on social media or join our email list to be the first to know when Derby arrivals land.
Do you carry fascinators?
Seasonally, yes! Because Derby styles move fast, we recommend visiting us in-store at 1386 Bardstown Road or following us on Instagram to catch new arrivals. Please note: fascinators are final sale.

Ordering, Shipping & Returns
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free standard shipping on orders of $100 or more. Orders under $100 ship for a flat rate of $6. See our full Shipping Policy for details.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–3 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays). Once your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number via email. Delivery times vary by location and carrier.
Do you offer local pickup in Louisville?
Yes! If you’re local to Louisville, you can select in-store pickup at checkout. We’ll notify you when your order is ready, and you can stop by our Bardstown Road boutique to pick it up during store hours.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns on unworn, unwashed items with original tags attached within 14 days of purchase. Sale items, swimwear, intimates, and seasonal items (including fascinators) are final sale. Can I place an order by phone?
Absolutely! Call or text us at 502-821-7506 during store hours and we’ll be happy to help you place an order over the phone.
Gift Cards & Rewards
Do you carry gift cards?
We do! Digital gift cards are available online with instant email delivery and are redeemable online or in-store. Physical gift certificates are also available for purchase at our Louisville boutique on Bardstown Road.
Do you have a rewards program?
Yes! We offer a rewards program where you earn points on every purchase — both online and in-store. Points can be redeemed for discounts on future orders. Visit our homepage and click the Rewards button to sign up or check your points balance.

What makes Surprise Lily different from other boutiques?
We’re a little biased, but we’d say a few things set us apart. We’re independently owned and operated in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood, which means every decision — what we carry, how we style it, how we show up for customers — comes from us, not a corporate playbook. We’re also Louisville’s first boutique to organize our entire collection around seasonal color palettes, so shopping here is a genuinely different experience. And we carry pieces from local makers, because we think that’s just good business and good community.
I’m looking for a gift — can you help?
Gift-finding is honestly one of our favorite things. We carry a mix of clothing, jewelry, and gifts — including locally made pieces — that feel personal and considered. If you’re not sure what to get, our team is great at helping you find something. We also offer gift cards online and in-store if you’d rather let someone shop for themselves.
What’s the neighborhood like around the store?
We’re on Bardstown Road in Louisville’s Highlands — one of the most walkable, neighborhood-y stretches in the city. We’re across from Impellizzeri’s Pizza and next door to Kizito Cookies, with coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, and other locally owned shops all within easy walking distance. It’s a great area to make a day of it. Come for the shopping, stay for the cookies.

Do you have a physical store?
Yes! Surprise Lily is located at 1386 Bardstown Road in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood. We’re open Wednesday–Saturday 11am–6pm and Sunday 11am–2pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Hours may vary during holidays and special events — follow us on Instagram for updates.
